The Retro Gangsta sunglasses from Urban Monkey have a really attractive design. The shape of the glasses is awesome and gives a strong retro gangster vibe. In terms of looks, Urban Monkey has done a great job — this style definitely stands out.
However, the problem is with the quality. While these sunglasses are not that cheapest, the quality feels exactly like products in the cheapest price range. Considering the price, I expected much better durability.
I have purchased a total of 5 sunglasses from Urban Monkey — 3 Retro Gangsta and 2 El Camino models. Unfortunately, all three Retro Gangster sunglasses developed the same issue. The nose pad broke within 2 months of regular use, and one pair broke in just one month. This clearly indicates a recurring quality control issue with this model.
Because of this repeated problem, the overall experience has been disappointing. Urban Monkey seriously needs to improve quality control, especially for the nose pad and frame durability. Otherwise, despite the great design, this product risks losing customer trust and may fail in the long run.
